The Rider sheds another half star for the sharpness of its hardware. The best handle features two cubes of metal which keep the handle in position — these balls are incredibly sharp at its points. Usually, this isn’t an issue, but I have somehow cut myself (albeit just on the face of my skin) from accidentally scraping my arm and hand against these edges.Like with most designer purchases, you are paying for quality. The Rider is no exception — I found that the leather to be smooth and unblemished and every sew thoroughly in place. In fact, the only real imperfections on this tote were produced by me clumsily trying to have the clasp to lock together. Even with all my heavy and oddly shaped objects banging around on the inside, this satchel never showed any sign of distress. But perhaps this class would be better evaluated in a couple of months so I can observe the bag’s performance over time. The full sized Rider retails at $525 and can be about the higher end of the modern designer spectrum. But I rectify the price point by taking a look at the timelessness of the bag. I’ve already worn this bag 8 days from the past 2 weeks and I will see myself always reaching for it due to its color, structure, and size. Concerning price per wear, this tote will definitely pay off. If this doesn’t cut it to your wallet, the moderate ($475), miniature ($395), and also baby pops ($295) are also amazingly cute.

  • I started viewing this bag popping up on blogs and in editorials before this season and was intrigued. Despite how it’s made in China and may undoubtedly be categorized as a’hipster handbag’ due to its bike-friendly backpack — I knew I’d eventually own it. (It had been THIS image that finally sold me on it so smart!) The edges are finished, the leather is strong and despite what some reviews have said — the hardware has been in perfect working condition. The inside is very spacious and the pockets make it simple to organize. Personally I shot the shoulder strap off the moment I got the bag from the box because I love how it looks as a clutch/in-hand bag, but it is wonderful to know that at a bind it could be utilized hands. Cons: Do I feel this bag is powerful enough for relentless everyday schlepping? Probably not. After just a few uses I discovered one of the corners beginning to buckle and flare from being in an upright position. Also, it doesn’t have any protective feet, which can be a bit of a downer. Despite this structural setback, I believe the design of the bag and substance (saffiano leather only) make it a classic piece to have in any group.

The top handle and shoulder strap also make this tote more versatile to wear. While I typically carry this bag with its own shoulder strap, using the best handle can make my entire appearance a bit dressier. The adjustable shoulder strap also means you can also take it as a shoulder bag, however I really don’t like how it seems at all when the strap is shortened.I’m deducting half a star for what the surfaces of the tote looks like when I fill it with items that are not flat or super small in width. The sides bulge out when I stuff it full, but I don’t mind it too much since I know that won’t be an everyday occurrence. To my untrained and amateurish eye, so the bag looks like it is constructed of several pieces of leather that have been stitched neatly and then fused together with a rubber edge lining. I might be wrong, but either way it looks like the human body’s construct is pretty solid. The interior is also lined with the signature Loeffler Randall polka-dot fabric.I really don’t have any problems with the general structure of this bag, but I am deducting half a celebrity for an interesting issue I encountered the other day. Whenever I’m carrying the satchel employing the top handle, I can not get the pushlock into unclasp. This results in the lock to get stuck and makes the grip harder to release because the lock and handle are situated on the exact same valve.

  • I became familiar with Loeffler Randall once I moved into New York City; most my new, youthful, female friends in the fashion industry attended Loeffler’s seasonal sample earnings religiously, so did I. The reasonably heeled booties, fun-but-wearable sandals and practical shoulder bags formed–and still form–the cornerstone of a uniform for lots of the cool girls I know in the city who must look put together and effective while in the office in the creative areas of their own choosing. The bags and shoes are not cheap, but they’re also not four figures, and also the classic-but-not-boring feel that almost all of Randall’s layouts have makes them a worthy seasonal splurge. I’ve spent my money on the brand’s pieces many times, and they’ve generally remained in my lineup for many years after. Since Loeffler Randall remains independent and has chosen more modest growth plans than a few of its contemporaries, it still feels as if you’re getting something special and that you won’t ever see everywhere. Now the internet has caught up with Jessie Randall’s aesthetic thoughts, the new bags (and sneakers –I have a real soft spot for the shoes, but we’re here to speak about totes ) feel as though they were engineered in a laboratory for the specific time and place we are in right now. They were not, of course; they have been that good all together. Check out a number of our favourite bags out of the brand’s current offerings below (and a few sneakers, because I can not help it). You can shop wider arrays at Shopbop, Nordstrom, Net-a-Porter and Loeffler Randall’s personal site.

  • A few weeks ago, I realized I hadn’t bought a new bag in a while. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love bags; now, however, my collection is grand and I’m surrounded by luggage each and every day, both of which help suppress my consumerism. But, I began to get an itch and realized it was because I needed a brand new bag. I was yearning to add a fresh touch of spring to my own collection, and since pastels are the new neutral, I started my search.I stumbled upon the mint edition of the Loeffler Randall Rider Bag and pushed sequence as quick as I could. The color is very feminine and beautiful, a blue-green which screams spring. I’ll have a full review to come soon, but I wanted to open the dialogue to you to hear the last handbag you bought and if you love it. Purchase my new tote via ShopBop for $495. With all the sales and purchasing events happening through the new year break, did you can find anything? Discounted designer shoes? Fancy bedsheets? A brand new fridge perhaps??? I didn’t really go mad, nor did I buy a fridge, but I managed to pick this up tote out of the Shopbop Sales.I have been drooling (and saving up) for a Loeffler Randall Handbag (conspicuous Leff-ler) for its maximum time.I just LOVE their Rider Bags, which can be so understated, simple and elegant. (Ok perhaps the leopard print bags aren’t so understated.) I like the bag does not have any branding on it. It’s a little mysterious and low key. It’s sleek, simple, minimal, a bit ordered, but not overly angular. The leather is completely gorgeous, the black hardware is hot, the lining is fairly, there are 3 pockets plus a top handle that pops down and sits flat. There’s something deliciously symmetrical and pleasing-to-the-eye about it… along with the designer in me only swoons with delight each time I watch it.

  • When I first opened the dustbag, I felt a massive wave of disappointment. The satchel appeared tiny in comparison to its photographs online! Because the Rider was designed to be expandable by filling it with your things, the entire body was so flat when there was no paper pruning to keep its shape. My very first thought was: what on earth could I perhaps even fit into this bag? Luckily, my first impressions were wrong. Those all fit spectacularly so I tried to push its boundaries — the second week I started putting my giant overnight oats jar in the last compartment. That match along with a chunky laptop charger and everything else I had in there from the last week! Clearly this would not match a laptop but this bag wasn’t designed to be a carry-all. I’m, nevertheless, deducting a full celebrity because of the way I have to organize my things within the bag so they fit. It is a bit like playing real-life tetris to make sure everything is coordinated right so the lock can snap closed. This is certainly inconvenient for someone trying to get a phone or wallet in and outside of the tote quickly. There are so many colour choices for the Rider which makes it hard to settle on the best one. But since I wanted something more timeless, I went with the black nappa model. The black pebbled leather would likely be more durable but I adored how chic and compact the satchel appeared in smooth leather. In any event, both black versions include black hardware -that I love! I discover that this little detail gives the bag a little more edginess than if it had silver hardware.
